Come, let's take a little walk.

I live a little ways out in the country, down here in Kentucky, and I just love it here!!! Lots of woods, fields, and dirt roads!! All make for a wonderful walk!! Do yo want to come?? It also makes a great place to get alone with God!! How could we walk in all this perfect beauty with out thanking the good Lord for it all!!! And to just stand in awe of him!! The day is warm with a gentle breeze, with the sent of honeysuckle linger in it. The afternoon sun is softly shining thought the trees along the way. Calling us to explore farther down the dirt road.

Here we go! It is just the most beautiful day!!! It's a good thing that the road is just a short walk from my home. When we get back we can have some ice coffees!! The walk isn't long through the woods to come to the first open fields.

Here is the first field. Isn't it just lovely!! When I look at this field I just want to stand here for a moment and just take it all in!

How do you like the view from the top of the field. Boy it didn't take long to walk up. Are you getting tired yet? I'm not.

Here is some of the honeysuckle that we smell filling the air all along our walk. Oh just look at all of the butterfly flutter all around us, and through all of the fields. It is such a special time to be walking this evening. I'm so glad you decided to come with me!

Such beauty to take in. This long road is beckoning us to go farther.

Oh just Look at the beautiful blue sky!!

This is where our dirt road ends. Time to turn around and head back. I love old barns. Don't you?

Here is a Zebra Swallowtail butterfly feeding on some honeysuckle along the way back.

This picture just takes my breath away!! God is so so good!!!

These last two pictures are taken on our way back! Are you keeping up :o) The afternoon sun is getting softer. Can you see the butterflies fluttering all around in the field??

Here is another barn on our way back. Do you see the dark clouds in the background?? I think we need to hurry along!! So we don't get wet.

Just one more look before we move on. I love how it look so small in the large fields.

Well we are almost home now our house is just past this field of cows. If you click on this picture and look on the right towards the bottom you will see a mother cow who just gave birth!!! She still has the birth sack still hanging from her bottom. The funny thing is that I just happened by accident to see it as I was taking pictures!!

And here is your ice coffee!! I was so blessed to have you along on my walk!! May the good Lord Bless you.

Kelly

  1. Now that is God's Beauty! I so yearn for moving to the country. (I grew up in NW Pennsylvania). I am always looking and someday.....(waiting on my husband to retire..) I enjoyed seeing the sale items in the last post. And I admire your convictions going to the Kentucky derby. I always felt God intended us to dress as in biblical times. So sad people aren't brought up with the 10 Commandments these days!! Well, I enjoyed that "walk" with you out in the country! Andrea

  3. What a beautiful walk Kelly! I enjoyed it with you so much, and sure appreciated the cup of coffee at the end! You take beautiful pictures and certainly have a wonderful place to walk and talk! I just love walking and talking with the Lord, and it looks like you have a beautiful place to do that, with no one to hear you but the Lord and the cows! Many precious conversations with the Lord I have had while walking in His beautiful creation! So glad to have met you, and appreciate your visit to my blog as well. May the presence of the Lord be sweet in your heart today :)

  4. Dear Kelly,

Hello, Kelly. This is Kinuko (a Japanese headcovering sister in Christ.) I came back to your blog and saw those beautiful pictures of Kentucky. Wow, isn't it a bit like heaven?

Well, Kelly, do you remember the pictures of wedding ceremony which you placed on your blog? Actually, I was touched by the modest attire of the young sisters in your church. And then, I thought it would be great if I can introduce their modesty to my Japanese readers. They are the wonderful example of godly maidens.

With a reference remark, I placed one of the wedding pictures on my blog. Please come to check how it is :)

Kelly, please send my best regards to the young maidens in your church. Please tell them that their modest clothes and attitudes are now inspiring many young Japanese believers. Please pray that God will raise up more and more godly maidens like them in Japan, too.

    In Christ,
    Kinuko

  9. Loved going on this delightful walk! I always feel so close to God when ever I am in the outdoors. Love old barns and seeing animals grazing. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup. I'm sure it's not intentional, but I'm not seeing a link back to the party.
    hugs,
